Individual Therapy
One on one therapy sessions for individualsIndividual therapy (sometimes called “psychotherapy” or “counseling”) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist—in a safe, caring, and confidential environment—to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors. This provides an opportunity to work through challenging memories, identify areas of transition, gain a better understanding of self and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons. Here is a sampling of potential presenting concerns: coping with changes caused by job loss, divorce, or other life events, healing from past trauma, confronting depression or anxiety, or simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge. The length of time in therapy varies from as few as 4-5 sessions to as long as several years, depending on the client’s unique needs and personal goals for therapy.
Getting started starts with a simple phone call to discuss scheduling and availability. Once you have your first session, we will work together to develop a course of therapy that is best suited for you. Therapy always begins with an individualized treatment plan after first discussing specific goals.
